MMR decontamination.
MMR (Mold, Mildew & Rodent) is Secure Insulation's attic decontamination process — designed to address contamination, odors, and biological growth concerns before insulation upgrades. Available as a standalone service, and included with every blown-in installation.
MMR is its own service. We also apply it on every blown-in job — at no extra cost.
What MMR addresses
- Rodents · mice · rats
- Birds and nesting material
- Droppings and urine
- Mold and mildew growth
- Persistent odors in the attic
What is MMR?
MMR — Mold, Mildew & Rodent — is Secure Insulation's proprietary attic decontamination process. It addresses biological contamination on attic framing and sheathing, and helps reduce the likelihood of future microbial growth when moisture issues are properly addressed.
The MMR process
A focused treatment sequence — no removal, no re-insulation in this scope. Those are handled separately by our blown-in service when needed.
- 01Inspection
We document the contamination — type, scope, moisture source and entry points — with photos for the homeowner.
- 02Containment
The attic is sealed off from the living space and prepared for treatment to limit the spread of particles and spores during work.
- 03MMR Application
Our MMR treatment is applied to framing and sheathing — penetrating the wood and addressing biological growth and odor at the source.
- 04Odor & Spore Neutralisation
A complete pass to neutralise residual odors and address airborne spores in the work area.
- 05Verification & Report
Final surface check, photos of every treated bay, and a written treatment report delivered to the homeowner.
Asbestos or vermiculite? Available on request.
Full vacuum extraction of existing insulation is not part of our standard MMR or blown-in process — it's a separate, regulated service we provide only when the existing insulation contains asbestos / vermiculite, or when a homeowner specifically requests full extraction. Ask us during the free inspection and we'll quote it transparently.
